Background
RPG Cables is one of India’s leading cable manufacturers and is a division of KEC International Ltd. RPG delivers cables manufactured in its three factories to over 40 countries.
Assignment and results
RPG Cables had decided to build a new power cable plant as a greenfield project to Vadodara, North-West India. EP-Logistics prepared the master plan of the plant. It included, for instance, the design calculations and concept planning for material flows, warehouses, production lines and material handling equipment, as well as the layout designs, yard logistics plans and the phasing plan of the implementation.
Benefits
- The full potential of the site was utilised with the finished master plan
- The number of, for example, production and material handling equipment was found out with dimensioning calculations
- The unnecessary phases relative to the manufacturing process were eliminated already before the beginning of construction
